What about when the system is over 'local' lvm volumes and you have
another lvm disk from iscsi ?
You couldn't move open-iscsi scripts before lvm, because you won't
have mounted system volumes
Maybe I'm not understanding something.

Another and perhaps better approach would be to move the files needed
by the init.d script to / and move the init.d script before the lvm2
script, this allowing lvm to see the devices and avoid the need for
special lvm handling in open-iscsi.
