This does seem to have been fixed in 1.5.17.dfsg1-2.

It looks like the font was in ttf-sil-andika (0.001.desrev-5) but
isn't in the newer ttf-sil-andika (1.0.basic-1).
The submitter has confirmed that the bug is in 1.5.17.dfsg1-1.

We've had a bug on tuxtype reported in Ubuntu. It's possibly related
to debbug #489924 as it's a crash when a font is missing.
They don't say which version - I'm presuming 1.5.15.dfsg1-3 as that's
our current stable. It could be 1.5.17.dfsg1-1
