Your new mlme.c file seems to have fixed it. Nice work Ben :)
As long as there aren't any other issues and the multiple
wireless interfaces fix is still in place and working I think
this bug is squished.

I bring good news for a change. I seem to have found the problem sort of.
I decided to check the differences in files for myself and since there were
only 6 files or so with differences I decided to one by one try compiling with
the updated cvs versions of the file and starting over if it failed. W
Well fortunately for my pride but unfortunate for solving this problem; The
interface
doesn't seem to change at least according to iwconfig it's still wlan0. Is there
somewhere else I should check perhaps? Just for the sake of testing I also
tried setting it to eth0-2 but not surprisingly it didn'
I believe udev has always overridden this and made it wlan0. Certainly was with
2.6.25 which is why it was set up that way. To be honest though I don't know
that I checked with 2.6.26. I'll be a bit embarrassed if thats all it is. I'll
reinstall it now and see.

Package: rt2500-source
Version: 1:1.1.0-b4+cvs20080623-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
After updating to kernel 2.6.26-1-amd64 I can no longer connect. DHCP
claims to have recieved no offers. It works fine in the previous kernel
and I just compiled the latest rt2500 cvs
