Before running 'smbpasswd', did you also set 'lanman auth = yes' in the
smb.conf?
If not, your smbpasswd entry only has an N

The same happens with 3.2.1, you can try it even with smbclient from the
sa
I am currently not at home, I will try this next week. I already installed
samba from unstable, but I cannot test it, because I am not in my local LAN
now.
I inform you, if the bug can be closed. I am sorry for not trying the newest
version (from the log you can see that I hit this crash on Aug 5
