Hello, same problem here.
I tried the Fedora patch from
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=443681 and it works. I can
mount shares exported from the Samba version in etch, the version in
lenny and Windows XP.

I tried that smbfs version and no improvement.
I also tried 2.6.25-2 and that doesn't work either (with both versions
of smbfs)
