Thanks for your detailed bug report. Do you see this bug if you
install the version of aptitude and cwidget in unstable? It looks like
a duplicate of #4613

When I select a package in aptitude, and press Ctrl-Down, aptitude crashes
after the next keypress. Example:
1. Start aptitude and select a package, e.g., the aptitude package.
2. Press [Ctrl-Down], then press [/].
