Hello Federico,
Why not use experimental as well to resolve this issue? Perhaps this also
affects other architectures.
By the way, I can co-maintain if you like. I've already did work for the
packaging of the new library. I want to do some tests of ogre with the new
library.

3.9.x compiled fine on amd64. I'll
Hello,
It builds out of the box for me, by running "make" (Debian unstable,
x86). Perhaps this is a 64-bit issue? Supposedly FreeImage added
64-bit Linux support as of 3.9.0, however.

Hi jeff,
how did you build the new version (3.10) of the library. I am getting
several build errors here (Debian unstable, amd64). For example:
Source/FreeImage/PluginBMP.cpp: In function ‘BOOL
LoadPixelDataRLE4(FreeImageIO*, void*, int, int, FIBITMAP*)’:
Source/FreeImage/PluginBMP.cpp:227: erro
Package: libfreeimage3
Version: 3.9.3-3+b1
Severity: normal
FreeImage 3.10.0 is out, which makes use of the gcc visibility option,
hopefully resolving problems like the one described here:
