I just wanted to do some more analyses, but I can no longer reproduce
the problem. Everything works fine now.
Please mark the bug as unreproducible and wontfix.

it took a while to make a strace, because the computer on which syrep
crashes is far from the place I normally live - well that's why I use
syrep :-)
