I can't reproduce this bug.
Can you reproduce it with a mc new version?
If it bug again please give us some system informations with this command:
reportbug -q --template -T none -s none -S normal -b --list-cc none -q mc
Have you try with another ft
Package: mc
Version: 4.6.1-6
If a filename starts with a number between 1900 and 3000 and follows a
space and some other characters, it looks incorrectly in the ftp-window
and cannot copy to the local machine.
Example: the filename in the remote machine „2010 abc.doc” looks in the
ftp-window
