FYI python.el was temporarily removed upstream due to concerns wrt
copyright assignment from the author. It was restored shortly (abt
2-3 weeks, IIRC) before the 22.1 release so there is no problem.
I guess the current Debian emacs22 package is a snapshot done during
this short period when python
