Thanks for the additional information -- I can reproduce it now.
The bug has been fixed upstream on the 25th, so the next snapshot
will have a fix.
Cheers,

I have the same problem, with the environment specified in Bug#399294
and emacs-snapshot 20061123-1.
Using a local display, I did the following:
(1) run emacs-snapshot
$ emacs-snapshot-x -q
(2) type C-l to clear the splash screen and display the *scratch* buffer
(3) click on "*scratch*" in
It's a local display.
My ~/.emacs:
{{{
(setq c-default-style
'((c-mode . "linux")
(c++-mode . "stroustrup")))
(add-hook 'c-mode-hook
'(lambda ()
(c-toggle-hungry-state)))
(column-number-mode)
(display-time)
}}}
thanks!

I can't reproduce this.
Are you using a local or a remote display?
Thanks,

Package: emacs-snapshot
Version: 1:20061123-1
Severity: normal
After a click on the buffer name in mode line, emacs-x11 will hang,
and C-g can't help.
stderr: Xlib: unexpected async reply (sequence 0x1e15)!
Click on "Mail" (display-time) will cause the same thing.
