For that command, the exit value is the important value. Try "grep -E
-qs "tmpfs\$" /proc/files
I also met this error. I'm using the debian package

I suspect you are using a kernel without tmpfs support. This will
break the system in subtle ways. The oldest and most obvious way is
probably that POSIX shared memory functions will fail as /dev/shm/ is
not a tmpfs, and a recent addition is the /l
