(running etch last updated/upgraded 28.10.06 + compiz 0.2.0-1 from sid.
radeon M7 with radeon driver, 1024x768 display)
I can confirm the bug (not all windows refresh, maximizing/resizing
sometimes helps) and the solution XaaNoOffscreenPixmaps. And it slows
things down, so complex a

Have you tried adding this to you xorg.conf file? This should fix the problem

i fix this problem adding:
Option "XAANoOffscreenPixmaps"
in Device Section, and
Load "ddc"
in Module Section
