Note:
- adding "ipup -a" to the ifupdown initscripts doesn't solve the
problem 100% (e.g. portmap doesn't depend on ifupdown but needs the
loopback interface).

Well I didn't broke my system! Or do you want to say that debian (I
could reproduce that on my 2. system) is broken??
[apt-get remove netbase; dpkg --purge netbase -> problem is there]
Well if it that script is in ifupdown then the problem is
solved...
