One of my machines has a EXTREMLY poorly clock which an error of >1
I have been having the same problem, with about the same frequency on my
system. It's almost certainly an X bug, likely interacting with a
specific hardware implementation.
My system is Gentoo x86-64 running on ICH7 Core2 Duo (Dell M1210). GUI
is gnome. It's not the gnome screensaver as that'
