there is still a similiar bug in .../ruleset/common/archvars.mk . But
even when fixing it, cross compiling an amd64 kernel with the Xen
3.0.2 patch on arch i386 still does not work:

with xen-3.0 now in unstable I tried building a xen kernel with
make-kpkg again and found some problems:
1) make-kpkg --subarch xen ...
