Can you verify that it was built with libhttp-ocaml-dev version 0.1.1,
which is still in unstable? That version fixes a bug which causes the
symptoms you describe.

serving about 30 client machines.
Many of the clients are running apticron, which installs
/etc/cron.daily/apticron. The clients are also mostly ntp-synced. This
