With the actual 2.6.14 kernel, this bug has disappear. I think you can
close the bug.

If I remove the module "b44", my laptop no longer freezes. Where does
the bug come from ? From the kernel module for Broadcom ethernet
controller or from hal ?

This bug occurs also with the 2.6 kernels from the official Debian
repository. I have tested 2.6.11-1 and 2.6.8-2.
