Seems useful.
If you could split that patch up into two (one for the data management
changes, and one for the time stuff), that could speed things up.
Otherwise I'll try to do it myself soon.

and related functions. Why? For testing schedule-oriented systems,
Y2038 testing, and other relativistic excursions.
