I just ran into this problem as well. For me, it happened when I was
using valgrind to debug a program of mine, immediately after I clicked
to close my program (but apparently before it had successfully shut
down). If you're interested, I can try to get it to reliably produce

I got the same error, but instead of a segfault, my program changed
between the `run's:
(gdb) kill

(gdb) make
...
