I'm not sure about the exact version this bug was fixed in, but testing
reveals that at least 6:6.2.4.5-0.1 bails out with 'Permission denied'
if mogrify is told to act on a write-protected file. (The original
report talks about read-protected files. Mode 0444 that was me
