I discovered that this works:
dgit --dpkg-source:-Zgzip --dpkg-source:-z1 --dpkg-source:--format=1.0
--dpkg-source:-sn -D --quilt=nocheck -wgfa sbuild -c build -A
--no-clean-source --dpkg-source-opts='-Zgzip -z1 --format=1.0 -sn'
This is ludicrious.
