You convinced me (I convinced myself?): I now use mariadb-backup instead, as per the lines in my patch in MDEV-33187: Seems mariadb-hotcopy is deprecated so maybe we should be using mariabackup? I guess this is progress: why use a simple tool, when a complex one is almost as good? Thanks, Pa
