as per the lines in my patch in MDEV-33187:
Seems mariadb-hotcopy is deprecated
so maybe we should be using mariabackup?
I guess this is progress: why use a simple tool, when a complex one is

I don't see the upstream MDEVs having a status 'fixed' nor any
confirmation/review about the patches yet. Let's wait a bit for a
feedback round.
