I've done a bit of testing, and my prelim 1.2.2 packaging seems to
work fine. Also a tiny bit more yak shaving.
I have not tried to get the unit testing stuff working with the
debian/tests automated test suite business. But if that were done,
this version might be able to get past the freeze. (Als

to 1.2.2 as of Jan 2023. I've prepared a preliminary packaging of the
latest release, as a series of commits on top of the
salsa.debian.org/debian/duplicity repo, in a fork of that repo,
