I managed to update to the latest upstream (5.3.3).
It's on mentors:https://mentors.debian.net/package/libjs-bootswatch/
And the salsa pipeline works, too:

I am maintaining a package that needs the bootswatch-5 version. I've
created a patch (against the oldish 5.2.3) that either replaces the google
fonts with a local version, or removes the theme altogether.

Please update to a later release.
