Description:
Indeed it does appear to fix it.
1: Did synaptic update (with libwnck-3-0 still pinned) [many updates
unrelated to this]
2: logout/in via X2GO .. works
3: remove pin from synaptic and apt-mark unhold
4: synaptic update (it updates gir1.2-wnck-3.0 and libwnck-3-0 )
5: Logout/in via x2go .

I realised I did not include the library name and version
in the base text of my original report (it was in links) I keep
checking my version against the "broken" version , so I end up having to

So the failing version is :
|libwnck-3-0:amd64 43.0-2|
Can confirm the issue on Debian Testing. Downgrading to version 3.36.0-1 (from
Stable) solves the problem.
