Thanks for providing more info. Indeed, it looks to be a polkit issue
perhaps due to incorrect user configuration.
By the way, how do you open the logout dialog? Do you press the power
button? Do you press Alt+F4? Are the buttons clickable if you run
`xfce4-sess
Control: tags -1 moreinfo
Sounds like you have some inhibitors preventing you from shutting
down. Most likely a PolicyKit issue though, as it pops up quite often
on the Xfce forums.
Anything in ~/.xsession-errors? `journalctl --user -f` could also give
us some hints.
