Thanks for the prompt reply. FIXED! I am attaching the script. The other scripts use "_have". And at the end of the script, for example in evince, the completion command is given. Test. Launch an xterm running bash. complete -p |grep lyx returns nothing lyx gives list corresponding to 'ls *lyx'
