Here is a patch that uses upstream revision 1952 (part of version 5.20).
It replaces the use of run-one with flock.
The package run-one being not part of Debian, there was little surprise
that we got this bug.

Here is a patch with the proposed fixes found in the upstream bug report.
It tests if urlparse has the now gone attribute (with latest python 2 & 3
versions) uses_fragment before using it.

It seems that at least one of your gpx file (in ~/.pytrainer/gpx/) has his time
tag with no value.
As a workaround, you could add a value like 2008-08-22T13:14:25Z , it should
allow you to see the record.
That said, this is indeed a bug.

the file debian/fix-hardlinks contains bashisms.
Here is a proposed patch to remove them by expanding them.

the issue lies in the debian/rules file which uses bashisms.
Here is a proposed patch to remove the three I have found out.
Amongst them is the one responsible for the reported bug.
