I've been using sylpheed-claws for several months, and it's been
working for me. I think, judging by your description and error, that
you have a corrupt mailbox. You may think that you deleted all
sylpheed-related configuration files, but I bet you missed a directory.
Type the following at the comm
If you still get errors, what is the output of:
$ dpkg -l | grep sylpheed
Also, there is a similar, but probably not the same, bug report for
sylpheed-claws. Just in case, try changing your desktop/wm theme, and
see if that helps.
