Should also note, that I did a aptitude dist-upgrade today and rebooted,
the bug persists. Maybe hasn't been fixed yet in 2.6.26 tree yet?

For further clarification:
a) Primary keyboard is through a USB KVM
b) Use of a backup keyboard via PS/2 makes no difference
c) No problems occur if running in X11.
d) The problem only occurs in console mode.
e) The problem is somewhat intermittent, but so far always the Insert
key does not work

Tested today. on current mysql-server-5.0.51a-6 on lenny.
The bug does not manifest in i386, but does manifest in amd64.
