I have used scanners on multi-function USB printers. Various brands.
The previous software version used in older versions of Debian, have
always found the scanner with no wait. Now it takes upwards of a full
minute.
(BTW, I never received any notifications on this bug.)

Well, I guess I'm very confused then. When I attempt to print, there
are two printers listed now. One prints and the other does not.
Further, I do not have the hplip toolbox available any longer.
I deleted the one printer that does not print. Then I deleted the queue
that had been created
If I understand your explanation, the hplip print queue works

Can you at least give me another subject under which to post this bug?
The command completed:
sudo lpadmin -p PRINTQ -v

-E -m "drv:///hpcups.drv/hp-photosmart_c3100_series.ppd"
Then the print command completed:
lp -d PRINTQ /etc/nsswitch.conf
request id is PRINTQ-544 (1 file(s))

Meant to say that I shut down the printer, waited for the process to
finish, then turned it on again before retrying.
sudo lpadmin -p PRINTQ -v
usb://HP/Photosmart%20C3100%20series?serial=CN668B721G04KV&interface=1
-E -m PPD

bash: -E: command not found
Also, closed the toolbox and it is no where to be found even though
installed.
Always. Unless I reboot the computer and turn on the printer first. At
least that is what I discovered so far. Can't guaranty that however.
