I solved the problem installing the package librsvg2-common.
That package is not a gwibber dependencie in squeeze...

After an upgrade of
libvte-common (1:0.24.0-2)
libvte9 (1:0.24.0-2)

the problem seems solved: splitting window is again possible and
transparence works as usual.

This is the correct description of the bug:
"When i launch terminator, its background is transparent and it'is
impossible to modify it.
