Problem:
"ifdown -a" uses the statefile, located at "/etc/network/run/ifstate", to bring
all configured interfaces down. It downs them using the order they appear in
this file.
This will cause errors if one uses VLANs or alias-devices, because

Problems found:
On "ifdown -a" or "ifdown bond0", the script
/etc/network/if-down.d/ifenslave tries to loop through each interface
configured in the "slave" stanza of the interface configuration to
--detach it using ifenslave bi
(I'm not sure about this one). A
little arrow (icon) appears in the collumn header as you cycle through
the modes but the list itself doesn't change and remains untouched.
I am running Ubuntu Linux Dapper Drake and will provide more
information if necessary.
