Just found simple workaround to this: sed -i 's/panic "No root device specified.*/return/' /usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/local update-initramfs -u - kvaps

fast and doing its job well. I can append that darkhttpd is widely use in Alpine Linux it would be nice to add support for debian too. - kvaps
