Hi, I've found a temporary workaround which works for me. I know that this is
not a "clean" solution but it did the job.
I just added:
if pidof kded4; then
exit 0
fi
to /etc/acpi/powerbtn-acpi-support.sh
Maybe this will help you.

Experienced the same problem here. Intel 945GM graphic chipset, 1280x800
widecreen.
Usplash not working if I add any "vga=XXX" parameter to kernel boot.
Without it works fine.
