reading the previous reports it looks like this package depends on a version of
a package (python-protobuf) which is in unstable and not in testing. As a result
this package should not be in testing as it is not usable. It would probably be
a good idea to upgrade th

Doesn't mount directories when /etc/mtab is a symlink to /proc/mounts -- as it
should be on a read only root file system. Is autofs not designed to handle this
special case? It would mount with -n option if /etc/mtab is a symlink.
Encountered similar, if not the same bug. Except opposite effect.
While upgrading portmap (dist-upgrade) 5-7 -> 5-26 I selected No at the prompt
but it bound to loopback anyway.
Running dpkg-reconfigure portmap again, and again selecting No fixed the
problem.
