Hi I have same problem, and with same version (linux testing amd64)
I try to go to unstable, or back to stable and can get solved it. I even
try to find old version packages in ftp and can't find it.

On my client I have mounted the share with cifs. Everything works correct
except saving from openoffice.

It's frustrating when you want to type 'rm *~' and instead of that you get
'rm *'... :( besides we only use the tilde in one letter and it has its own
key, so there's no problem.
Please revert the change.
