I accidentally installed my system with a trailing \ in the fqdn.
I didn't notice until I went to install emacs, which then showed errors in

In swapping to the terminal I prefer (eterm), I noticed that
fvwm-crystal depends on a series of specific termials, rather
than on the generic x-terminal-emulator.
