I'd like to report that this is the possible cause of my system being unbootable at the moment. I run Ubuntu Focal on a Dell laptop and run regular `dist-upgrade`s. The latest one seems to have triggered the corner case described above. Booting fails to get to my desktop. Ubuntu's recovery mode g
