I can confirm this bug - i'm getting it too against the versions reported.
i'm running stretch/sid.
i have a sample of what it looks like here:
http://executequery.org/temp/images/green-sushi.png
i've tried many different video file types and it doesn't make a
difference - all fail.
thanks

hi
the updates listed at end were applied on 17 May 2015. the issue noted
here is no longer happening and the gdm screen brightness is fine and
i am able to 'visually' log in.
i'll add anything further if there is a change for the worse.
thanks :)

i have the screen saver set to trigger after 1 min (have tried other
times too) it simply does not come on. it can be activated using the
panel applet and it works fine. problem is only that it doe
something strange has happened. it works.
i wonder if using the latest, uninstalling etc left some config settings
floating around that sorted the issue. i did remove the ~/.me-tv dir
before starting again.
suggestions on what to clean out and try again - otherwise, wanna close
it?
thanks

one more thing... the only video driver available under preferences is

fair point - blah... fine... i'll revert.
i'll go back to 0.5.33-3 and remove the other deps it brought it.
i'll then remove ~/.me-tv and start over. then i'll play with
xine.video_driver value in the conf file.

what i actually just did was change my repo to unstable.
this brought in an upgraded me-tv package and deps as follows:
Upgraded the following packages:

Installed the following packages:

after the initial channel scan which works fine, me-tv will not start.
selecting from the gnome menu does nothing after the initial scan (the
channel scan runs only when a channels.conf file does not exist).

Hi
i'm rather sorry to report this but my recent upgrade from testing had
this one rear its ugly head again.
the packages i just upgraded are at the end of this report (some of
which obviously may not be relevant to this).
i am getting ALL my volumes (i mean ones with the sizes against them)

I am also noticing the exact behaviour described in this report.

displayed by gnome-vfs - though not all of them. on this machine it

i have also noticed this exact same behaviour with meld.
i thought i'd add that some other apps are behaving in the same way
(hal-device-manager is one) so an obvious library issue.
some further info that may assist (or not): output of ldd

hal-device-manager does not start after recent upgrade in etch.
