This might be caused by my.cnf missing the line:
!includedir /etc/mysql/conf.d/
To include the file:
mysqld_safe_syslog.cnf
Which has the "syslog" option, especially on upgrades that didn't use
the mysql conf.d directory previously.

conf file, but the init script doesn't
recognize this configuration. Very simple patch for the init.d file is
attached.

This bug is fatal to the etch net installer, as it causes it to hang
forever because it wants to change /etc/networks.

I don't really feel like retyping the console, so here's a screenshot
from my VNC session with the Xen HVM I was trying to do a netinstall of
etch on to.
And in case it doesn't attach:

I fixed this in my environment by changing the symlink in /etc/rcS.d to
make firehol start last.

I haven't seen this bug recently, although I've since changed to using
Xeon SMP systems.

The init script is passing bad arguments to postfix. Quick and dirty fix:

I concur with changing nagios-plugins to "recommended". The NRPE server
will still run without plugins, and they are by no means a requirement;
its main job is to execute commands (plugins or custom scripts/commands)
remotely as part of Nagios.
