Emacs 26.1 just landed into Debian/unstable and it breaks GNUS reading
local e-mail with the '(file)' method because the movemail configuration
changed in 26.1 as explained in the NEWS:

I noticed that

when I have /run/network/ifstate that contains
lo=lo
eth0=routeur
If I remove "eth0=routeur" that works.
Indeed strace-ing NetworkManager shows the
macros for Emacs flavor emacs23 (log to
/var/lib/auctex/emacs23/CompilationLog)
A 1-liner correction has been submitted in the previous bug discussions
and it looks trivial to fix.
Is there an issue with upstream?

First, I'm wondering why this bug is not flagged as critical since it

By reading the Emacs version of movemail, it looks like this version is
more correct and the hard core test looks fine :
/usr/lib/emacs/22.0.50/i486-linux-gnu/movemail /var/mail/keryell
/dev/shm/keryell
