http://snapshot.debian.org/package/lxml/2.3.5-1/ , which is readily
installable in wheezy, and as expected the conversion works. I will
continue to test and use calibre with this version and report any
problems here.

this is still rather calibre bug. python-lxml behaves correctly, i.e. it
exposes an interface consistent with the respective version of the original
library, but calibre uses an interface of a higher version without

I can confirm this bug on on my HP Compaq 6715s. Also happened with kernel
