Sorry, I meant
I tried to backport Etch's
version from sources to Lenny, but with no success

...One more condition to reproduce the crash. I have 2 keyboard layouts:
english and russian. It's necessary to switch between them after opening
evolution. If I don't switch, it doesn't crash.

The same thing!
After playing DVD from folder, vlc remains in the list of processes
available by `ps` command:
ps aux | grep vlc
shumkar 15614 19.1 4.5 163776 41392 ?SLl 18:46 0:26 vlc
If I close vlc just by "close" button, the sound still goes on; if I
stop a movie before closing,
I reset GNOME keyboard parametres to default and the problem is gone.
This bug can be closed, sorry for reporting it by mistake.

I'm sorry for my bad English in the first post. It would be correct to
say "When I try to play any FLAC file with mhwaveedit, I get the
message..."
There is written in the mhwaveedit manual: "If it's compiled with the
libsnd library, mhWaveEdit supports a couple of other formats as well."
As I se
...
$ LANG=en_US.UTF-8 mtink
is also Ok

Also everything is ok with
$ LANG=en_US mtink
And the same error and unreadable symbols follow
$ LANG=ru_RU.ISO8859-5 mtink
To try some another locale? Which?

Thank you, Jean-Jacques, Sylvain,
I've got normal russian fonts by launching
$ LANG=C mtink !

An addition: my system fonts (set in System -> Parameters -> Fonts) are
Free Paladin Roman and Free Paladin Bold.
If I grep "paladin" by those new patterns, I get them:
$ xlsfonts -fn '*-r-normal-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-koi8-r' | grep paladin
-val-free paladin-bold-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-koi8-r
-val-free pa
I discovered that both fonts patterns (that used in mtink and that used
in the patch) are not right. Here are the results of my xlsfonts
command:
$ xlsfonts -fn 'l-*-r-normal-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-koi8-ru'
xlsfonts: pattern "l-*-r-normal-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-koi8-ru" unmatched
$ xlsfonts -fn 'l-*-r-normal-*-*-*
Sylvain,
Thank you for your reply.
I tried this patch:
$ patch -p0 <>
I succeded to connect my GPSMAP 60CS using "ttyUSB0" as serial port.
Sorry to trouble you! I'm still a newbie in Linux...
