This bug has been fixed in the cvs version of dvipdfmx.
(Note that dvipdfmx is now packaged in texlive-binaries.)

Hello,
some remarks about this bug:
1) xelatex uses xdvipdfmx, a modified version of dvipdfmx developed
for XeTeX. It is part of the texlive-xetex package.
2) With my CVS version of dvipdfmx, PS inclusion works fine.
3) Maybe the problem is related to the first issue mentioned in
http://project
that all releases up to
sarge9 work and all later ones don't.

I've done some testing, and it turned out that this bug is a regression
between the versions 1.0.4-2sarge9 and 1.0.4-2sarge10. The backported
version 1.5.dfsg+1.5.0.7-2~bpo.1 is not affected.
