I have been trying the Vincent tests. My results:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ aaa... => BAD
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ [Starting a subshell] b

I'm able to confirm this bug. Exactly the same buggy behavior
at the beginning of a bash session. Others shells work fine
(sh, dash). Oddly, exiting from the latter shells (as
children of bash) and returning to bash fixes the problem for
that

I agree with Mark that it should be fine to see the
new upstream version of Lilypond here in Debian.
