* What led up to the situation?
I tried to enable sharing files over bluetooth and could not
access the configuration GUI from the app list or the
button on the banner in the Public folder.

it worked for my similar setup with a fresh squeeze netinst after i created
~/.asoundrc and added "defaults.pcm.device 3" with or without the nvidia
proprietary driver.
