This was probably because of an dying microSD Card where the kernel was
installed.
Because 2 months later also the 4.9.0-13 kernel on hold had boot
problems. [1]
After reinstalling Debian Stretch with 4.9.0-14 on an SSD instead of
microSD (except u-boot) everything runs fine.

$ egrep -f ./local-systemd /var/log/syslog
but it matches all lines of syslog because the file contains empty
lines. I removed them and it worked. Attached my modfied file.

I am experiencing the same bug, but not with dhcp but with a static IP

Is there any news to this bug? I also have the same issue
on my laptop HP nx6125 with Debian Sarge. After a few minutes of idle
the mousepointer disappears.
Although geyes does still works (eyes are moving when moving the mouse),
there is no mouse
