This was fixed in version 1.2.6 back in December. The Debian packaging
hasn't been updated in over a year, and doesn't have the last two versions.
D'oh! Apparently you're not supposed to depend on qt5-default; instead
you should export QT_SELECT to either "5" or "qt5" in debian/rules. My bad.

find the correct Qt installation.
